Samsung GALAXY S3 Update: Region SIM-Lock kommt

Das leidige Thema regionaler SIM-Lock bei Samsung Smartphones will einfach kein Ende nehmen. Samsung versuchte zwar mittlerweile die Sache zu beschwichtigen, doch trotzdem melden sich jetzt immer mehr enttäuschte User, die trotz der korrekten Erstaktivierung ihres Smartphones es trotzdem im ausland nicht mit einer regionalen SIM-Karte benutzen können. Und so wie es aussieht, verteilt Samsung gerade ein GALAXY S3 Update, welches auch dort den SIM-Lock aktiviert.

Wie heise.de jetzt berichtet, wird derzeit wohl in einigen Regionen unserer Erde ein Samsung GALAXY S3 Update verteilt, welches nachträglich die SIM-Lock Sperre aktiviert. Dabei handelt es sich um GALAXY S3-Modelle mit dem CSC "I9300DBTEMG3". Das berichtet jedenfalls ein User aus China. Dieser wurde danach nach dem Einschalten nach einem Entsperrcode gefragt. Es sieht also aus, als ob es nun auch schon mit älteren Geräten losgeht.


Samsung ist derzeit dabei, sich bei vielen Usern unbeliebt zu machen. Ich weiß nicht, und viele andere auch nicht, was dieser regionale SIM-Lock bringen soll. Irgendetwas läuft wirklich bei Samsung komplett in die falsche Richtung. Das es bei neuen Samsung Smartphones mit an Bord ist, ist eine Sache, dann kauft man es eben nicht. Das es aber nun nachträglich auch auf bereits im Besitz der User befindlichen Modelle per Update aufgespielt wird, ist doch eine andere Sache. In Deutschland dürfte es hier wahrscheinlich einige rechtliche Probleme für Samsung egben, wenn im Nachhinein der Funktionsumfang des GALAXY S3 beschnitten wird.

Und dieses Samsung GALAXY S3 Update soll erst der Anfang gewesen sein, demnächst soll es wohl auch die Modelle GALAXY Note 2, GALAXY S4 und GALAXY S4 Mini treffen. Und das werden die User der Geräte wohl gar nicht witzig finden. Hier wird es wohl bei vielen Usern eine Abkehr vom südkoreanischen Unternehmen geben, und nur so können wir User dafür sorgen, dass solch restriktive Maßnahmen wieder zurückgenommen werden.

Samsung Android 4.3 Update Fahrplan bestätigt

Der Samsung Android 4.3 Update Fahrplan stand zwar fest, war aber noch immer nicht offiziell von Samsung bestätigt worden. Dies haben nun Provider dafür getan. Der französische Mobilfunkbetreiber SFR hat nun ebenfalls einen Android 4.3 Update Fahrplan für die Samsung Modelle GALAXY S4, GALAXY S3 und Samsung GALAXY Note 2 herausgegeben. Und diese Daten decken sich mit den bereits bekannten.

Eigentlich stand ja schon fest, wann die Modelle GALAXY S4, GALAXY S3 und GALAXY Note 2 das Android 4.3 Update erhalten sollten. Immerhin hatten die Südkoreaner es für das S4 zumindest für Oktober angekündigt. Jedoch gab es keine offizielle Bestätigung für die beiden anderen Modelle. Und zwischendurch tauchten Gerüchte auf, dass das Samsung GALAXY S4 Android 4.3 Update vielleicht sogar auf November verschoben würde.


Doch nun scheint dieses Roadmap hier aus Frankreich den bestehenden Android 4.3 Update Fahrplan endgültig zu bestätigen. Und das heißt also, dass wir Android 4.3 für das Samsung GALAXY S4 noch im Oktober bekommen werden. Danach werden das Samsung GALAXY S3 und Samsung GALAXY Note 2 im November/Dezember folgen. Es bleibt also alles beim bekannten Termin.

Ob es wichtige Änderungen im Gegensatz zu Android 4.2.2 auf diesen Modellen geben wird, ist noch unklar. GALAXY S3 und Note 2 sind ja sogar noch mit Android 4.1 unterwegs. Vielleicht orientiert sich die Firmware ja an der des Note 3, mal sehen. Damit dürften dann, wenn alles glatt läuft, bis zum Jahresende das gros der Samsung User das Android 4.3 Update erhalten haben.

Der Samsung Android 4.3 Update Fahrplan stand ja eigentlich fest. Im Oktober sollte es mit dem Samsung GALAXY S4 Android 4.3 Update beginnen, im November sollte dann das Samsung GALAXY S3 Android 4.3 Update folgen und im Dezember sollte dann das GALAXY Note 2 das Android 4.3 Update bekommen. So der letzte Stand der Informationen. Doch aus Kanada kommen nun schon wieder neue Meldungen, dass sich das Samsung GALAXY S4 Android 4.3 Update verschieben könnte.

Das Samsung Android 4.3 Update für die Modelle GALAXY S4, GALAXY S3 und Note 2 lässt doch auf sich warten. Auf der IFA wurde bestätigt, das zumindestens das Samsung GALAXY S4 das Android 4.3 Update im Oktober erhalten soll. Doch kann Samsung diesen Plan einhalten? So wie es aussieht wohl nicht. Denn Samsung Kanada hat nun verlauten lassen, dass für das GALAXY S4 das Android 4.3 Update erst im November erscheinen soll.

Jetzt sollten wir erst einmal ruhig bleiben. Das Samsung Kanada nun den eigentlich geplanten Android 4.3 Update Fahrplan schon wieder ändert muss für uns in Deutschland nichts heißen. Meistens haben wir Europäer die Updates von Samsung sowieso schneller als die Amerikaner. Daher sollten wir jetzt ruhig bleiben. Ich denke, dass das Samsung GALAXY S4 Android 4.3 Update wie geplant im Oktober starten wird.

So langsam kommen wir in die heiße Phase des Update-Herbst. Denn in den nächsten Wochen und Monaten wird gerade Samsung für eine Reihe Modelle das Android 4.3 Update ausrollen. Den Anfang soll bereits im Oktober das Samsung GALAXY S4 Android 4.3 Update machen. Dieses ist aber nicht das einzige Smartphone, welches auf die (noch) aktuellste Android Version geupdated werden wird. auch das GALAXY S3 und das GALAXY Note 2 werden folgen.

Das das Samsung GALAXY S4 irgendwann das Android 4.3 Update bekommen würde, war ziemlich sicher. Trotzdem hat es viele überrascht, dass sich die Südkoreaner bis Oktober damit Zeit lassen wollen. Dafür ist das GALAXY S4 Update aber auch schon bereits seit geraumer Zeit in der Erprobung, jetzt dürfte der letzte Feinschliff erfolgen. Ich persönlich hatte ja eher mit dem Android 4.3 Update für das GALAXY S4 zur IFA 2013 gerechnet, dies wäre eine große Bühne für das Update gewesen.


Kommen wir zum letztjährigen Flaggschiff Samsung GALAXY S3. Auch dessen Android 4.3 Update ist bereits in der Erprobung. Jedoch wird es keinen Release im Oktober geben. Neuesten Aussagen zufolge ist mit dem Samsung GALAXY S3 Android 4.3 Update eher im November zu rechnen. Daher heißt es für die leidgeprüften User des Modells noch ein wenig warten.

Schließlich ist der Nachfolger Note 3 bereits out-of-the-box mit Android 4.3 erschienen, und diese Exklusivität will man dem Modell noch ein wenig länger garantieren. Aber wie ihr seht, wird in den nächsten Monaten viel passieren.

Those who have already installed the test firmware have been looking for a way to root their device on the N7100XXUEM16 firmware. If you happen to be one such person, we bring you the easiest way to root your device and install a custom recovery on it.
In most cases people tend to to try a leaked firmware for some time as a deviation and then go back to the previous official version. Getting Prepared:

  • Download Odin and unzip it on your desktop: Odin3-V3.07.Zip
  • Download PhilZ Recovery: Philz_touch_5.15.0-N7100.Tar.Md5
  • Download the SuperSU rooting package and copy it to your device (internal or external storage): UPDATE-SuperSU-V1.65.Zip
  • Download and install either Kies Or Samsung USB Drivers on your computer.
  • Enable USB Debugging on your Note 2 with Android 4.3: go to Settings> More> Developer Options, tap the slider on the top of the page and check the box in front of USB Debugging. In case you do not find the developer options, enable it Using This Guide.
  • Charge your device to ensure at least 50% battery.

Installing PhilZ CWM Recovery on Note 2:

When you are sure that you have made all required preparations and gathered the tools, follow the following steps to install the customized version of CWM recovery.
  1. Boot your Note 2 into Download Mode. To do this, press and hold the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons simultaneously for 2-3 seconds. When you see the warning screen, press the Volume Up key.
  2. Launch Odin and connect your device to PC via USB cable.
  3. Wait till the ID:COM port turns Blue and you see “Added!!” message on Odin.
  4. Now click the PDA button and select “philz_touch_5.15.0-n7100.tar.md5“.galaxy-note-2-root-android-4.3
  5. Then click the Start button and wait till it is flashed to your device.
  6. Finally, you will get PASS!! message at Odin and your Note 2 will reboot automatically.
When your device boots up, it will have PhilZ CWM Recovery installed on it. Congrats!

Rooting Galaxy Note 2 on Android 4.3:

  1. Make sure you have copied the SuperSU zip file on your Note 2.
  2. Now boot it into Recovery Mode. To do this, press Volume Up, Home and Power keys at the same time for 4-6 seconds. Keep the keys pressed till you enter the PhilZ recovery main menu.
  3. Go to “install zip from sdcard” option and select “UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.65.zip”.
  4. Select “yes” to confirm installation and wait till it is flashed.
  5. Now return back to main menu in recovery and select “reboot system now”.
Your Galaxy Note 2 will boot now. When your device becomes functional, open app drawer an look for a new app named “SupeSU” there. If you can see this app, your device is rooted. To verify proper root access, install Root Checker app from the Play Store and run it.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Update Nears: Samsung Announces Galaxy S4, S3, Note 2 ‘Premium Suite’ Software Includes OS And Galaxy Gear Support

[Update 10/25 2:00PM] Samsung has updated the Verizon Galaxy S4 changelog on its website, indicating that the Premium Suite software with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will soon begin rolling out, likely sometime Monday. 

Samsung has confirmed that various Galaxy devices will begin seeing the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update very soon.

Last week, Samsung released a press statement detailing its plans for the Android 4.3 update for several handsets including the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, and Galaxy Gear support for handsets including the Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Zoom, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3. Soon after, an Android 4.3 and Galaxy Gear update time table leaked, suggesting that Android 4.3 would begin rolling out on U.S. Galaxy models, starting with the Verizon Galaxy S4 on Monday. Now Samsung has released a new statement, essentially confirming the update schedule.
Leaked documents apparently indicated Samsung's plans to update devices to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean to make them compatible with the Galaxy Gear smart watch.
Samsung’s press statement details that U.S. models of the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galax S3 and Galaxy Note 2 will receive a Premium Suite software update, which includes Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Galaxy Gear support and Samsung KNOX security, among many other features. Noting that rollout schedules may vary by carrier and devices, Samsung says updates will in fact begin Monday; however, it does not indicate which carriers will soon update.

If the leaked timetable is an accurate indicator, the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 will be updated to Android 4.3 on four major carriers -- Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile -- by the end of the year.
