[Nexus 5] CF-Auto-Root

CF-Root is the root for "rooting beginners" and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock firmwares, and be the quickest and easiest way for your first root.

Donate
CF-Root has been available for many devices and has clocked over 17.5 million downloads. This is not even counting custom ROMs that already include it. Don't be a leech, buy me a beer (and use the "Thanks" button!). Imagine if every CF-Root user has donated me $1...

What's installed
- SuperSU binary and APK
- Nothing else, that's it.

Installation and usage

- Download the ZIP file (see post below for link)
- Extract the ZIP file
- Boot your device in bootloader/fastboot mode. Usually this can be done by turning your device off, then holding VolUp+VolDown+Power to turn it on.
- Connect your device to your computer using USB

- Windows:
--- Run root-windows.bat

- Linux
--- chmod +x root-linux.sh
--- Run root-linux.sh

- Mac OS X
--- chmod +x root-mac.sh
--- Run root-mac.sh

- Follow the on-screen instructions - watch both the computer and the device !

Note that if your device had not been unlocked before, this procedure will wipe all your data !

Are you having fastboot driver issues? You can find fastboot drivers in many places, but the easiest way is probably just installing the Android SDK.

Did you see the red Android logo during rooting, but SuperSU does not appear? This may sometimes occur due to left-over files and settings, however, you can usually install SuperSU from Google Play at this stage and it'll just work.

Not included - adbd Insecure
As this CF-Root does not include a custom kernel, adb shell does not have root access by default (you can still get it by typing su inside the shell), nor is adb remount supported, nor will adb push and adb pull work on system files. adbd Insecure can be used to remedy this situation. (No idea what this is about ? Don't worry about it !)

First Tizen phone (Z9005) appears in hands-on video

The Z9005, a high-end Tizen phone that shares specs with the Galaxy S3, has been in the news quite often, and now we can take a look at a hands-on video of the device, showcasing Tizen, Samsung’s mobile operating system that the company hopes will one day power everything from mobile to banks, cars, televisions, and more.
At first glance, Tizen looks pretty similar to TouchWiz, but the icons, which seem inspired from the circular icons in Nokia’s now cancelled MeeGo (not surprising, since Intel came together with Samsung to create Tizen after Nokia got out of the MeeGo project), look much better than they do on Samsung’s Android devices. The menu layouts and options are all similar to the ones found on Galaxy devices, and pretty similar to Android itself, which should help keep Samsung’s current consumers pretty comfortable with the new OS should they ever buy a Tizen device.
The hands-on video is quite long at over 9 minutes, so go ahead and hit the play button below to watch it in full. Anyone here interested in Tizen?

Samsung Tizen Z9005 RedWood in HandsOn Video

Ash from the TizenExperts got a ReferenceDevice in the fingers, which has been sent in the way of developers in India. It looks similar to the RD-PQ, except that the frame is bright. However, here are some done in the software itself, so you get a really good idea of how Tizen will really look like when it comes to the first Samsung devices to use. The device is named  Samsung Tizen Z9005 RedWood .
Thus, the symbols have changed on the one hand in the status bar and in the drop down menu. The whole now looks pretty much made to TouchWiz, but somehow has a fresher touch. Enclosed once only the video and a few screenshots from the video. I try not to correct screenshots of the system and good photos of the device to come.

First Tizen smartphone from Samsung in the Hands-On: The Z9005 Redwood

Rumours about the high-end smartphone Tizen Redwood has been around for a long time, however, there have been few accurate information. Now a video has surfaced on YouTube in which the smartphone is demonstrated in detail with Tizen.

Samsung's Tizen version of Android is very similar with TouchWiz, but has something new and fresh. WebOS also seems to be a source of inspiration for the design. Tizen acts in the video schobn very complete and also seems to have many of the features that you already know of Galaxy smartphones with Android.

[Video] Hands on with Tizen Samsung Z9005 – RedWood

We shared some news previously that developers in India had been shipped the Tizen RedWood device (Z9005). Well today we have a video showing some hands on, mainly going around the settings to see what new things Samsung have introduced with this build of the Tizen OS.

More toggles are now in the newly scrollable status bar are shown and have some animations as well as things like screen mirroring and tethering.
Theres a whole mountain of improvements that take onboard some of the Samsung features found in the Samsung Galaxy series of phones and the list is quite substantial.

This OS is still shown as Tizen Version 2.2 Firmware Z9005XXMI3 which is still undergoing development. There is also said to be a Tizen 3.0 branch but we have not seen anything of this yet. Check it out below:

Custom Android 4.4 KitKat ROMs now available for the Galaxy Nexus

As expected, the development community has come to the rescue of the Galaxy Nexus, after Google announced that its 2011 Nexus wouldn’t be getting updated past Android 4.3 to 4.4 KitKat – a couple of custom Android 4.4 ROMs are now available for the device, built from the Android 4.4 source that Google released right on the day of announcement of the new version of the OS.
For those unaware, Android 4.4 is one of the biggest upgrades Android has ever received, with a focus on improving performance and reducing RAM usage on devices with as low as 512MB devices, and other features like a new launcher with inbuilt Google Now (accessed by swipe to the right on the homescreen), better media features (with options such as closed captioning across the system), full screen mode for apps (similar to TouchWiz, with the status bar and navigation keys available with a swipe down from the top edge of screen), and more.
There are two ROMs available, and except for a few issues like animation and graphical glitches, most things seem to be working fine, though since these are early builds, you’ll probably not want to use them as daily drivers. Head to the links below to take a look at the ROMs’ details, and to start enjoying the sweet taste of chocolate-filled Android.

Apple’s iOS boss quits after 23 years

Henri Lamiraux, the man who alongside Steve Jobs and a couple of others, created and managed what we call the iOS has called it quits with the guys at Cupertino.
Apples iOS boss quits after 23 years Apples iOS boss quits after 23 years
According to his LinkedIn profile, Henri is no longer an employee at Apple where he worked as a software engineer before being shifted to the iOS division in 2015 where he served as vice president of engineering until his retirement last week.
Mr. Lamiraux apperaed in many WWDC events during his stay at Apple, getting popular with App Store app developers in 2012.
It is not clear why Henri Lamiraux left Apple but we can confirm that Apple has also ted work on the iOS 8, without Lamiraux ofcourse.
Meanwhile, in another news, Apple legend Steve Wozniak said he wished Apple and Google were partners.
“Sometimes I say ‘Go to Joe’s Diner’ and (Siri) doesn’t know where Joe’s Diner is. And very often usually I find out that Android does.
“I believe you should have a world where you’ve got to license something at a fair price. There are good things I see on Samsung phones that I wish were in my iPhone. I wish Apple would use them and could use them, and I don’t know if Samsung would stop us.
“For about three or four years I’ve been talking about organic LED displays that could be theoretically printed on plastic, wrapped and folded. It could be on the inside of your arm and then when you flip your arm up it could actually flip open into your own hand. I want a full smartphone-like capability on my wrist. The trouble is the more I think about it, I don’t want the small size.”
Wozniak later admitted that he doesn’t know much about the business issues which could prevent such an Apple-Google partnership from happening.
