People from all over the world have been using it in myriad situations and locations and I don’t know about you, but I’m certainly keen to see how real people are handling it out in thereal world.
First up traveller and lover of food Hasmita, who came along with us to Dubai for two days to see what she could make the the Lumia 1020 and 925. The two photos above were taken on Hasmita’s tripand it’s fair to say she thought the 1020 can hold it’s own against her stand alone camera.
“I’m not too much of a tech/phone person, but I do enjoy photography, and I can tell you- this phone rivals the capabilities of my SLR.”
Next we move from Dubai to Berlin, where street photographer Daniel, the author of Berlinique, has been taking the Lumia 1020 to some extraordinary derelict locations. His short series of images really puts the 1020′s 41 megapixel sensor and low light capabilities to the test, but the results speak for themselves.
And now we head over to the UK to see what musician and photographer Idene has been up to with his Lumia 1020. Quite different from most, he’s opted to capture images of the lead singer’s mask from his band called simply Tooms. Scary stuff! Best noted here that the below was taken under studio lighting, meaning professional work is quite possible with the Lumia 1020.
It’s not all doom and gloom though, outside of the studio Idene toured Alnwick Gardens and Castle, taking the kind of every day shots you would expect when you’re out on a day trip.
Now if we hop over to the States we’ll find LA based entertainerJeff Daly, who’s reporting on his use of the Lumia 1020 almost every day on his aptly named blog, Daly Dose. Over there you’ll find heaps of stuff, funny videos, photos, a trip to Venice and aspectacular #zoomreinvented test.
From Hungary David Detko is really pushing his skills to the limit with the 1020 taking astonishing pictures. I won’t say too much here as I’ve already applauding David on his photography recently, but definitely stop by and check out his work!
Our final two are from the UK. First up, Ray Verlaque took the Lumia 1020 out on a rainy photo walk in his garden… capturing the stunningly vibrant colours of his flowers.
“I was raining a bit with fading light but the camera in my opinion was superlative”
Finally we have some pictures of our own to share! Joe from our team went down to Somerset House and decided to simply shoot a few of the fountains there. By spending an extra second to compose each shot he was able to easily capture the water stream in motion.
I guess to round this post off it goes without saying that amazing things are possible with the camera on the Lumia 1020. You can point and shoot and capture great images, but if you spend a little more time you can get something really special.
