Samsung GALAXY Round offiziell vorgestellt [Video]

Nun ging es ja doch sehr schnell. In der vergangenen Nacht wurde das Samsung GALAXY Round, das erste Smartphone mit gewölbtem Display, offiziell vorgestellt. Bereits kurz vorher waren die offiziellen Pressebilder bereits geleakt worden. Damit hat Samsung den Kampf un das erste Smartphone mit flexiblen Display gewonnen. Aber so wie es aussieht, wird das Samsung GALAXY Round derzeit nur für den südkoreanischen Markt produziert.

Da ist es nun also, das erste Smartphone mit einem gewölbten flexiblen Display. Das Samsung GALAXY Round genannte Smartphone erinnert nicht nur optisch stark an das Samsung GALAXY Note 3, nein auch die inneren Werte sind fast 1:1 übernommen worden. Es kommt also mit dem Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 3GB RAM und einem flexiblen 5,7'' FullHD-Display. Ledigleich der Akku schrumpfte ein wenig von 3.200mAh auf 2.800mAh und auch der S-Pen fehlt beim Samsung GALAXY Round.


Das Smartphone ist 154g schwer und nur 7,9mm dick. Die gebogene Displayform des Samsung GALAXY Round haben die Südkoreaner auch gleich für ein nettes Feature verwendet, stößt man liegend an, sorgt ein sogenannter "Roll Effect" dafür, dass verschiedene Informationen auf dem Display angezeigt werden. Jedoch sind sonstige Innovationen nicht zu finden. Samsung ging es wohl in erster Linie darum, noch vor LG ein solches Smartphone mit flexiblem Display auf den Markt zu bringen.

Vorerst wird das Samsung GALAXY Round nur in Südkorea erhältlich sein. Und auch der Preis ist ganz schön happig, angeblich verlangt Samsung für das Modell satte 1.000 Dollar. Ob es jemals zu uns kommen wird, steht in den Sternen. Jedoch ist das Samsung GALAXY Round auch erst der Anfang, im nächsten Jahr wird sich zeigen, was so alles mit einem flexiblen Display machbar sein wird.

Samsung GALAXY Round: Smartphone mit gebogenem Display

Nachdem Samsung sein flexibles Display offiziell vorgestellt hat und auch gleichzeitig angekündigte, dass die Massenproduktion des flexiblen Displays bereits auf Hochtouren laufe, gibt es heute nun die ersten Informationen zum Samsung GALAXY Round. Samsung GALAXY Round werdet ihr euch jetzt fragen? Ja, so soll angeblich das erste Samsung Smartphone mit einem flexiblen Display heißen.

Ja, Samsung will bereits in den nächsten Tagen das Samsung GALAXY Round vorstellen. Dabei handelt es sich um das erste Smartphone der Südkoreaner mit einem flexiblen Display. Und anders als man vorher vermutete wird das GALAXY Round ein echtes High-End-Smartphone. Denn bis auf den Namen und das gebogene Display sollen die Spezifikationen dem Samsung GALAXY Note 3 ähneln. Es scheint also was richtig Großes auf uns zuzukommen.


Anders als beim Konkurrenten LG soll das Display des Samsung GALAXY Round an den Ecken gebogen sein und sich somit besser an die Kopfform des Users anpassen. Wie das aussehen wird, muss sich noch zeigen, und auch wie die Usability sein wird, muss sich noch beweisen. Ansonsten soll das Samsugn GALAXY Round mit dem Snapdragon 800 und 3GB RAM kommen. Und das 5,7'' flexible Display wird anders als beim Konkurrenten eine FullHD-Auflösung bieten.

Das Samsung GALAXY Round soll angeblich auch einen S-Pen bekommen. aber wie alle anderen Aussagen muss man dies noch als Gerücht behandeln. Vielleicht wissen wir aber in den nächsten Tagen bereits mehr, vielleicht wird das Samsung GALAXY Round ja noch in dieser Woche offiziell vorgestellt?!

The Photosphere camera from Android 4.2 is one of the most sought about things among non-Nexus Android users. And why not, the feature so unique in its own right as it lets users capture a 360° panoramic pictures that look amazing. Before the launch of Galaxy S4, there were strong rumours that Samsung would release its own version of Google’s photosphere branding it as Samsung Orb. With the Android 4.3 update rolling out to the Galaxy S4, we all expected to see the new camera feature on this device, but it did not come to S4.

The Note 3 camera app for the Galaxy S4 is available as a flashable zip and can be installed using a custom recovery like ClockworkMod or TWRP. The app has been tested working fine on Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 and GT-I9505. Because it works on the LTE variant of the device with Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, it should also work on the US (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc.) and Canadian versions of the device.

Requirements:
A rooted Galaxy S4
CWM or TWRP Recovery
Your device must have either Android 4.3 based TouchWiz ROM (not tested on Android 4.2.2)

How to Install:
Download the Note 3 camera app in zip from above and copy it to your S4.
Boot your device into recovery mode by pressing Volume Up+Home+Power buttons together for 4-5 seconds. Release the keys when you see the CWM or TWRP screen. Alternatively, you can use one of these apps to enter the recovery mode.
The first thing that you must do after arriving the recovery mode is to backup your current ROM using “backup and restore” or “Backup” option. If you change your mind, you can later restore the backed up ROM.
Now go to “install zip from sdcard” or “Install” option and select the zip file.
Confirm the installation when prompted.
Finally, reboot your Galaxy S4.
When you phone boots up, check out the new camera app> Enjoy!

Fixing Bugs:
Having installed the Note 3 camera on your Galaxy S4, if you find that the Surround Shot feature is not working properly, download the following file, and copy it to system/ framework folder using a root file manager app. When the file is copied fix the permission to rw-r–r (644). We all know that Nexus devices are the first to get Android updates but when they get into the clutches of Verizon, they can only pine and crave for firmware upgrade. Even at a time when Android 4.4 KitKat update is just around the corner, Nexus 4 has not yet received 4.3!
That being told, you would jump a bit to know that this slow-to-act carrier has surprisingly shown some agility in sending the latest version of Android to its variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4. Samsung GALAXY Round in dieser Woche in Südkorea erhältlich

Samsung ist derzeit im Bereich des flexiblen gebogenen Displays LG voraus. Denn anders als die Landsmänner, die bisher nur ein Smartphone mit einem gebogenen Display angekündigt haben, hat Samsung mit dem GALAXY Round bereits das erste Smartphone offiziell vorgestellt. Und nicht nur das, wie jetzt bekannt wurde, soll das Samsung GALAXY Round sogar schon ab dieser Woche erhältlich sein - jedenfalls im Samsung-Heimatland Südkorea.

Mit dem Samsung GALAXY Round stellten die Südkoreaner letzte Woche ihr erstes Smartphone mit einem gebogenen Display vor. Dabei handelt es sich praktisch um das aktuelle Samsung GALAXY Note 3, nur hier eben mit einem in der Längsachse gebogenen Display. Das Display ist ebenfalls 5,7'' in der Diagonale und hat FullHD-Auslösung. Unter der Haube werkelt dementsprechend ebenfalls der Snapdragon 800 sowie 3GB RAM.

Anders als noch letzte Woche vermutet, wird das Samsung GALAXY Round doch nicht um die 1.000 Dollar kosten. Wie jetzt bekannt wurde, soll es in Südkorea noch in dieser Woche für umgerechnet EUR 750,00 erhältlich sein. Ein akzeptabler Preis für eine neue Technologie. Jedoch geht es beim Samsung GALAXY Round sicherlich nicht um Millionen-Verkäufe.


Mit dem Samsung GALAXY Round hat Samsung einfach nur das erste Smartphone mit einem gebogenen Display gezeigt. Vor allem wollte man aber noch vor dem schärfsten Konkurrenten in dieser Sparte, nämlich LG, ein Modell präsentieren. Daher durfte man auch nichts außergewöhnliches erwarten. Im nächsten Jahr könnte die Sache schon wieder ganz anders aussehen, wenn dann die flexiblen Akkus kommen, sind schon wieder ganz andere Designs möglich.

Samsung GALAXY Round Unboxing [Video]

Vor einer knappen Woche wurde mit dem Samsung GALAXY Round das erste Smartphone vorgestellt, welches ein gebogenes Display hat. Wer jetzt Wunder was erwartet hatte, der ist sicherlich enttäuscht gewesen. Denn bis auf eine leichte Krümmung in der Längsachse des Samsung GALAXY Round gibt es keine außergewöhnlichen Design-Merkmale. Ist aber auch kein Wunder, denn schließlich sind alle anderen Bauteile, außer dem Display, eben nicht flexibel.

Heute gibt es das Samsung GALAXY Round Unboxing Video zu bestaunen. Das ging ja ziemlich schnell, gerade erst vorgestellt, soll es ja diese Woche bereits in Südkorea erhältlich sein. Und das erste Mini Hands-On Video des Samsung GALAXY Round gibt es ja auch schon. Und nun eben das Unboxing Video. Hier scheint es auch ein finales Gerät zu sein, der Lieferumfang ist jedenfalls größer als wenn ein ein Vorserienmodell gewesen wäre.

Das Samsung GALAXY Round scheint wohl direkt mit zwei Akkus und Case für den Ersatzakku ausliefert zu werden. Alles andere ist Serien-Lieferumfang bei Samsung GALAXY Modellen. Über das Gerät selbst braucht man wohl nicht mehr viel zu sagen, es kommt mit einem gebogenen 5,7'' FullHD-Display, einem Snapdragon 800 von Qualcomm , 3GB RAM und einer 13MP Kamera. Wie man unschwer erkennt, ein Samsung GALAXY Note 3 Klon.


Daher stellt sich auch die Frage nach dem Sinn des Gerätes. Eigentlich ist es nämlich überflüssig, die Specs kommen ja bereits im Note 3 so zum Einsatz. Daher kann man nur feststellen, dass Samsung eben die ersten mit einem Smartphone mit gebogenem Display sein wollten. Denn eigentlich hat das Samsung GALAXY Round für mich keine Daseinsberechtigung.

Samsung GALAXY Round Hands-On [Video]

Mit dem Samsung GALAXY Round stellten die Südkoreaner gestern ihr erstes Smartphone mit einem gebogenen Display vor. Das es kein Quantensprung in Sachen Design werden würde war bereits vorher klar, bis jetzt ist nämlich nur das 5,7'' FullHD-Display des GALAXY Round flexibel, die anderen Bauteile sind klassisch. Und jetzt gibt es auch schon ein erstes, kurzes Samsung GALAXY Round Hands-On Video zusehen.


Mit dem neuesten Smartphone aus dem Hause Samsung, dem GALAXY Round, wagt sich der Hersteller jetzt erstmals an ein gebogenes Smartphone-Display. Und wie von Samsung nicht anders zu erwarten, wird erst mal geklotzt und nicht gekleckert. Denn im Prinzip ist das jetzt vorgestellte Samsung GALAXY Round ein GALAXY Note 3 mit eben einem gebogenen Display. Hier und da müssen einige Abstriche in kauf genommen werden, der Akku schrumpfte auf 2.800mAh und der S-Pen fehlt auch.


Auch beim flexiblen 5,7'' Display geht Samsung keine Kompromisse ein, hier kommt gleich ein FullHD-Display im Samsung GALAXY Round zum Einsatz. Aber ansonsten halten sich die Innovationen in Grenzen, wer mehr erwartet hat ist mit Sicherheit ein Fantast. Denn erst im nächsten Jahr dürften die interessanten Smartphone-Designs mit den neuen flexiblen Displays erscheinen. Einen Vorteil haben sie aber schon jetzt, wenn das GALAXY Round einmal herunterfallen sollte, das Display geht mit Sicherheit nicht kaputt.

Einen Wermutstropfen hat die Sache allerdings, nach Europa wird das Samsung GALAXY Round wohl nicht kommen. angeblich ist es nur für den südkoreanischen Markt bestimmt und auch der Preis ist sehr stolz. Angeblich will Samsung für das Smartphone 1.000 Dollar vom User haben. Aber wie findet ihr eigentlich das Design des neuen GALAXY Round?
