Samsung is taking a huge step in its research and development adventures – the Korean manufacturer is building a brand new R&D center in Silicon Valley, by investing a significant portion of its $187.8 billion sales, setting up shop right where software giants like Google reside. Two new buildings will be set up, taking up approximately 385,000 square-feet over five and six stories respectively, with the entire campus taking up around 8.5-acre of land.
“Our new state-of-the-art R&D center will provide an outstanding environment to support our plans for strategic growth and attracting the very best employees,” said Daniel Eum, president of Samsung Research America. “This expansion, in addition to Samsung Semiconductor’s new San Jose campus, builds upon Samsung’s 35-year history in the Bay Area and reinforces our commitment to the valley.”
