With the rumours of the Galaxy Note 3 Active on its way it only makes sense to speculate the S5 will be waterproof. With Samsung successfully being able to accomplish this feat this means that they can easily implement it.
According to a new report from the Korean-based ET News, the Samsung Galaxy S5 may also feature the water and rustproof functionality. Unlike the S4 Active and soon to be Note 3 Active. Samsung is supposedly adding these ruggedized features to their flagship phone of 2014.

This will be very similar to what we already see in the Sony Xperiz Z and Xperia Z1. Samsung won’t be downgrading the hardware on either device for the rugged variants, which is stark contrast to the Galaxy S4 Active, which saw its specs watered down in exchange for a tougher and resistant build.
All in all, this will be a good move for Samsung. With this in mind, they can stay ahead of Apple and continue to become the best in the business. This could also go hand in hand with the flexible display so I wouldn’t be surprised. Also, it would be great for users that are very sloppy with their device and drop it many times, due to the fact of having stronger glass in the display. In addition, it could possibly be much more sturdy and be made of more premium materials compared to the plastic Galaxy S4.
