[Nexus 5] CF-Auto-Root

CF-Root is the root for "rooting beginners" and those who want to keep as close to stock as possible. CF-Root is meant to be used in combination with stock firmwares, and be the quickest and easiest way for your first root.

What's installed

- SuperSU binary and APK

- Nothing else, that's it.

Installation and usage

- Download the ZIP file (see post below for link)

- Extract the ZIP file

- Boot your device in bootloader/fastboot mode. Usually this can be done by turning your device off, then holding VolUp+VolDown+Power to turn it on.

- Connect your device to your computer using USB

- Windows:

--- Run root-windows.bat

- Linux

--- chmod +x root-linux.sh

--- Run root-linux.sh

- Mac OS X

--- chmod +x root-mac.sh

--- Run root-mac.sh

- Follow the on-screen instructions - watch both the computer and the device !

Note that if your device had not been unlocked before, this procedure will wipe all your data !

Are you having fastboot driver issues? You can find fastboot drivers in many places, but the easiest way is probably just installing the Android SDK.

Did you see the red Android logo during rooting, but SuperSU does not appear? This may sometimes occur due to left-over files and settings, however, you can usually install SuperSU from Google Play at this stage and it'll just work.

Not included - adbd Insecure

As this CF-Root does not include a custom kernel, adb shell does not have root access by default (you can still get it by typing su inside the shell), nor is adb remount supported, nor will adb push and adb pull work on system files. adbd Insecure can be used to remedy this situation. (No idea what this is about ? Don't worry about it !)

LG G Pad 8.3: Verkaufsstart und Preise bekannt

Nachdem ich gestern im Laufe des Tages technische Schwierigkeiten mit dem Internetzugang hatte, gibt es heute zum Start des Tages erst einmal ein paar News von gestern, die ich euch nicht vorenthalten möchte. LG hat gestern nämlich endlich die Preise und den Verkaufsstart seines LG G Pad 8.3 offiziell bekannt gegeben. Starten wird das Tablet, wie sollte es auch anders sein, in Südkorea.

Das auf der IFA 2013 vorgestellte LG G Pad 8.3 soll nun endlich erhältlich sein, jedenfalls in Südkorea. Denn dort wird man das Tablet ab dem 14. Oktober kaufen können, der LG G Pad 8.3 Preis soll 550.000 Won betragen, dies sind umgerechnet ca. EUR 380,00. Ob dieser Preis auch bei uns so kommen wird ist unbekannt, viele gehen sogar von einem noch niedrigeren Preis aus, dieser soll sich für das LG G Pad 8.3 um die EUR 320,00 - 340,00 bewegen.

Nun fragt ihr euch sicherlich, wann denn das LG G Pad 8.3 bei uns erhältlich sein wird?! Hierzu haben die Südkoreaner keine genauen Angaben gemacht, es heißt lediglich, dass das Tablet in weiteren 30 Ländern bis zum Jahresende verfügbar sein soll. Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass auch Deutschland unter diesen 30 Ländern sein wird, denn schließlich wollen die Südkoreaner sich das lukrative Weihnachtsgeschäft für das LG G Pad 8.3 sicherlich nicht entgehen lassen.

LG G Pad 8.3 ab Ende des Jahres erhältlich

Das LG G Pad 8.3 kommt, wie bereits der Name vermuten lässt, mit einem 8,3'' Display mit 1.920 x 1.200 Pixeln Auflösung. Unter der Haube werkelt ein Qualcomm Snapdragon 600, dieser wird noch von 2GB RAM unterstützt. Der interne Speicher ist 16GB groß, kann aber noch via microSD-Karte erweitert werden. Der Akku hat eine Kapazität von 4.600mAh, das dürfte für einen ganzen Tag locker ausreichen.

Update: Bei Idealo ist das LG G Pad 8.3 bereits gelistet, dort soll es bis jetzt EUR 399,00 kosten, danke Dennis für den Tipp!

LG Optimus G Android 4.4 Update im Oktober [Gerücht]

Jetzt wurde auf Facebook durch die LG Social-Media Abteilung mehrfach bestätigt, dass für das LG Optimus G das Android 4.4 Update im Oktober ausgerollt werden soll. Doch so wirklich mag das keiner glauben, alle gehen hier von einem Versehen aus. Vermutlich handelt es sich um das LG Optimus G Android 4.3 Update, welches im Oktober erscheinen soll. Denn warum sollte Android 4.4 für das LG Optimus G schon so früh bereitstehen?

Es klingt unglaublich und ist es wahrscheinlich auch, gemint ist das angebliche LG Optimus G Android 4.4 Update im Oktober. Hier muss sich jemand vertan haben, denn warum sollte LG so früh die dann neueste Android Version ausrollen? Noch soweit vor den anderen Herstellern? Und vor allem, noch ist einmal zu 100 Prozent geklärt, ob der Android 4.4 Release wirklich am 14. Oktober sein wird.

Bei LG muss sich wohl jemand einen Scherz erlaubt haben. Denn wie sonst kommt man dort auf die Idee, via Facebook den Usern zu bestätigen, dass das LG Optimus G Android 4.4. Update bereits im Oktober kommen soll. Und vor allem ist nicht davon auszugehen, dass Hersteller die neue Version schon soweit vor dem Release zum Testen bekommen haben. Auch LG nicht, obwohl sie mittlerweile eine enge Partnerschaft mit Google verbindet.

Internal storage is set to 32 GB, twice that of the G2. It also has a 13 megapixel rear camera. The biggest difference between the two, however, is that, while the G2 has a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, the G Flex will have a larger 6.0-inch screen but a lower resolution of 1280×720 pixels, giving it a lower 244 ppi pixel density than that of the G2.

Nexus 4 LTE Has Just Received Bluetooth Certification

We’ve told you earlier this month that Google has a Nexus 4 LTE in the works. We are glad to announce you that the said smartphone has just passed through Bluetooth certification.

The smartphone has the same model number as its predecessor, LG-E960, and, most likely, the same technical specifications. In the original Nexus 4 filling, dated September 21 2012, the Design Description field said “LG 3G Mobile Phone,” while the new certification that was filled October 25, 2013 says that it’s a “LGE LTE Mobile Phone.”

There are no further details such as technical specifications or firmware version, but we should expect its hardware platform to be identical to the one of the 2012 Nexus 4 and to run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. As a refresher, the 2012 Nexus 4 packs a 4.7-inch 720p True HD IPS Plus screen, quad-core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 2 GB of RAM, 8 MP primary camera with 1080p@30fps video capture, and 8/16 GB of storage.

I remind you that when we first heard about the Nexus 4 LTE, our source told us that the handset will be available with 16 or 32 GB of storage.

The Nexus 4 LTE is expected to see the light of day synchronized with Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat, which will reportedly launch later this month. According to a new report, this year’s Nexus flagship will go on sale in Google Play on October 31st, which means that the release date shouldn’t be too far away.

LG ANNOUNCES THIRD-QUARTER 2013 FINANCIAL RESULTS

Sales of Mobile Devices Increase 24 Percent From Same Period Previous Year

LG Electronics Inc. (LG) announced third-quarter 2013 consolidated revenues of KRW 13.89 trillion (USD 12.51 billion). While competitive conditions in the TV sector and an unfavorable foreign currency exchange rate affected overall revenues compared with the 2012 third quarter, sales of mobile devices increased year-over-year by 24 percent. LG saw a 27 percent increase in third-quarter operating profit to KRW 217.80 billion (USD 196.34 million) compared with the same period last year.

The LG Home Entertainment Company reported revenues of KRW 5.01 trillion (USD 4.50 billion), a 7 percent decline from the same period a year ago, reflecting slower global TV demand and lower selling prices. Higher sales in developing markets such as Asia and the CIS region were offset by softness in Europe. Operating profit of KRW 124.40 billion (USD 111.68 million) increased both year-over-year and quarter-over-quarter as a result of more efficient management of operating and marketing expense. As it enters the holiday selling season, LG plans to expand global sales of premium products such as OLED TVs and Ultra HD TVs while continuing to carefully manage costs.

The LG Mobile Communications Company’s third-quarter revenues increased by 24 percent compared with the same quarter a year ago to KRW 3.05 trillion (USD 2.75 billion). The company shipped 12 million smartphones in the third quarter but profitability and average selling price were affected by increased competition and higher marketing investments. LG plans to focus on increasing sales of new premium products such as the LG G2 smartphone during the peak holiday season as well as maximizing 3G and mid-tier mass devices such as the L II Series and F Series.

The LG Home Appliance Company recorded revenues of KRW 2.97 trillion (USD 2.68 billion), up 3 percent from the previous year largely due to the positive reception of its new washing machines and refrigerators. LG appliance sales increased in North America and China but slowed in developing markets. Despite higher overall revenues and improved cost structure, third-quarter operating profit decreased from the same period last year to KRW 109.20 billion (USD 98.17 million) primarily due to unfavorable foreign exchange movements.

The LG Air Conditioning and Energy Solutions Company reported relatively flat third-quarter sales and operating profit margin year-over-year with revenues of KRW 973 billion (USD 876.32 million). While increased R&D investments and weak global market conditions will continue to impact the business, the company will focus on growing its market share of non-seasonal products and higher-margin products such as new commercial air conditioning systems.

Smartphone LG G Flex with a curved display now official

LG has officially announced its first smartphone with a curved display - G Flex.
